Start Before You’re Ready

We all have a masterpiece we want to create. It's that business idea that keeps you up at night, the book you're meant to write, or the career change that feels both exhilarating and terrifying. You have a vision, a passion, and the drive to make it happen, but there's one thing holding you back: the fear of not being ready.

You've read all the books, listened to the podcasts, and maybe even earned the degrees. You've prepared, planned, and procrastinated under the guise of "getting ready." You tell yourself, "I'll launch my business when I have the perfect website," or "I'll start writing when I've outlined every chapter," or "I'll apply for that job once I get one more certification."

Let me ask you this: when will you be ready? The truth is, you won't ever feel 100% prepared. Ready is a myth. It's a moving target that we use to shield ourselves from the vulnerability of starting something new. It's a comfortable excuse that keeps us from confronting our deepest fears: the fear of failure, the fear of judgment, and the fear of not being good enough.

I know this feeling well. When I decided to become a coach, I had all the credentials. I had the education, the experience, and a deep-seated desire to help people transform their lives. But I still hesitated. My mind was a battlefield of "what ifs." What if no one hires me? What if I'm not good enough? What if my message doesn't resonate? The thought of putting myself out there, truly out there, was intimidating.

But I did it anyway. I started before I felt ready. My first website was simple, and my first clients came from word-of-mouth referrals. I’m writing first book a few pages at a time, sometimes with shaky hands. My coaching business didn't explode overnight; it grew one client and one blog post at a time. The growth came because I started. I learned and evolved along the way, not beforehand.

Your journey will be the same. The real growth, the true learning, happens in motion. You don't learn how to ride a bike by reading about it; you learn by getting on and pedaling. You'll stumble, you'll fall, but you'll also find your balance. You'll discover what works and what doesn't. Your skills will sharpen, your confidence will grow, and your path will become clearer with every step you take.

So, stop waiting for the perfect moment. Stop trying to "get ready." The world is waiting for your unique gift, your voice, and your vision.
